Zumba came to me from another YMCA member who took a class in Florida. She told me all about it and how much fun it was. I bought the DVD's and practiced at home to learn more about it. So out of the blue one day, I found out they were doing a certification in Dayton, Ohio and decided to go. I packed up my 2 girls and my mom and drove up there for the weekend. The creator of Zumba, Beto, was there doing the cert. and I was all by myself. I quickly met some real nice ladies and learned all about Zumba. It was a Sat. & Sun. cert. and on the very next Tues. morning, was my 1st Zumba class at the YMCA in Hopkinsville, KY. It was so much fun to learn and teach Zumba, it became a passion of mine. I strive to always be the best and to teach properly and to never be bored in my classes. So far, I think I've been pretty successful. The classes always seem happy and I love my ladies that are there every day. They make it FUN!!!!!
I do have a dance background. I studied various traditional forms of dance that included tap, ballet, jazz & modern for about 10yrs.
I am an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor. I have my certification in CPR & First Aid through the Red Cross. I also teach many other forms of exercise, like step, pilates, weight/strength training, mommy & me, and core classes. I'm also working on my Personal Training Certification.
